The South Panola School District is currently serving the needs of approximately 4,700 students who reside in the district. This enrollment represents a growing population of kindergarten through 12th grade students who attend classes in district facilities.

There are six schools in th South Panola school district: Batesville Elementary (K-1), Batesville Intermediate (2-3), Batesville Middle (4-5), Pope Elementary (K-8), Batesville Jr. High (6-8) and South Panola High School (9-12). The District also operates an Alternative School for students who need an alternative opportunity; a Child Development Center, serving handicapped children; and an Even Start Program for children ages 3-7 and their parents.

The District is striving for continuous educational improvement in all academics and extra curricular programs from Kindergarten through graduation. South Panola School District’s State of Mississippi accreditation standing is Level 3, and student achievement is improving in many areas.

All South Panola Schools, elementary and secondary, are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and South Panola High School was recently recognized by SACS for being fully accredited for 50 years.
